述曰：第三，總破二十三諦。量云：大等二十三諦應非三事合成；許實有故；如本自性。此中論文，宗有前後，因不簡略，准前應知，文言略故。上來三量總破所成二十三諦，此下第二，總破本事能成自性。

The Commentary states: Third, generally refuting the twenty-three principles. The syllogism is: The twenty-three principles such as mahat should not be composed of three entities; because you accept that they are real and existent; like the original primordial nature (prakṛti). In this treatise text, the theses have an earlier and a later [formulation], and the reason is not abbreviated; one should understand it based on the preceding, because the phrasing of the text is concise. The above three syllogisms generally refute the produced twenty-three principles. Below, the second part generally refutes the primordial entities, the producing prakṛti.
