述曰：此乃體用更互相即難。量有二：文有兩宗；因云體即相故，相即體故；更互為喻。其理可知。第三，合難二十四諦，唯除我體，前已破故。於中文有其五，第一難其總、別。

The Commentary states: This is the objection that essence and function are mutually identical. There are two syllogisms: the text contains two theses; the reason is: "because essence is identical to characteristic," and "because characteristic is identical to essence"; they serve mutually as examples. The principle can be understood. Third, jointly refuting the twenty-four principles, excluding only the essence of the self (ātman), since it was already refuted before. In this text there are five [arguments]; the first questions their generality and particularity.
