述曰：此第三，破三事和合，共成一相，一相即大等。量云：汝根本三相共成一相時，根本三相應無三相；即一相故；猶如一相。相既失本，體亦應然，相體一故。量云：成相之時，根本三體應無有三；以相即體故；如所成相。

The Commentary states: This is the third [refutation], refuting that the three entities combine to jointly establish a single characteristic, the single characteristic being mahat and so forth. The syllogism is: When your fundamental three characteristics jointly establish a single characteristic, the fundamental three characteristics should lack three characteristics; because of being identical to the single characteristic; just like the single characteristic. Since the characteristics lose their original [nature], the essences should also do so, because characteristic and essence are one. The syllogism is: At the time of establishing the characteristic, the fundamental three essences should not be three; because characteristic is identical to essence; like the established characteristic.
