述曰：此總結非彼地、水等，與堅等異。大乘之地即堅等故，會申正義，然不可言色即是地。今只可以彼此相例，非實、非德地等非見。又言地等非別堅等，地等非見，不可說：色離地等無。文言雖總，意顯別也。

The Commentary states: This concludes generally that their earth, water, and so forth are not distinct from solidity and so forth. Because earth in the Mahāyāna is just solidity and so forth, he reconciles and sets forth the correct doctrine; yet one cannot say that color is just earth. Now one can only compare them mutually: that non-substance and non-quality earth and so forth are not seen. Furthermore, saying that earth and so forth are not distinct from solidity and so forth, and that earth and so forth are not seen, one cannot say: color does not exist apart from earth and so forth. Although the words of the text are general, the meaning reveals distinctions.
