述曰：破初婆羅門等計。量云：汝明論聲應非常住；許能詮故；如所餘聲。餘聲即是非明論外，餘一切聲，以彼聲性非是能詮，故無不定。

The Commentary states: This refutes the first doctrine of the Brahmins and others. The syllogism runs: 'Your sound of the treatises of enlightenment should be non-eternal; because you admit it is a designator; like all other sounds.' 'Other sounds' means all sounds other than the treatises of enlightenment. Since their essence of sound is not a designator, there is no fault of being inconclusive.
