The Commentary states: If one merely speaks of "the nature of form," it applies to all forms without distinction. All form phenomena possess mutability and obstruction, which constitutes the nature of form—this is mutually accepted by everyone. Now, the syllogism is established as follows: "These blue, yellow, and other forms should have no distinction; because they are identical with the nature of form; like the nature of form." The nature of form is one across all forms, and all forms are the nature of form, so it is used as the example. Question: In refuting that all phenomena are identical with the Great Being and commonality-difference, does the Buddha-Dharma now assert that outside phenomena there separately exists a Great Being and so forth? Answer: I merely refute your errors; it does not mean that I make any definite assertion.
