述曰：文中可解，然此唯在第四靜慮，諸勝定者多是彼中，由地勝故唯是無漏。既言聲聞等不得，明非地前已得此四及有漏故。解此四定，《攝論》等唯有名。唯此及佛地論有解。發智光明，通聞、思、修，如第三地除障所得。

The Commentary states: The text is easily understood. However, these are exclusively in the fourth dhyāna; most superior concentrations are in that state, and because that stage is superior, they are exclusively untainted. Since it says that śrāvakas and so forth cannot attain them, it is clear that they are not attained prior to the [bodhisattva] grounds and are not tainted. In explaining these four concentrations, the Mahāyānasaṃgraha and other texts only give their names; only this text and the Buddhabhūmi-śāstra have explanations. Generating the light of wisdom extends to hearing, reflection, and cultivation, as obtained in the third ground upon removing obstacles.
