述曰：彼所知障，此第三愚多與煩惱中欲貪俱故，名欲貪愚，非所知障體名為欲貪，彼障定及修惠所知障永斷。說「欲貪隨伏」，所知為本斷故，煩惱是末便伏，此煩惱無始來依所知障轉故。

The Commentary states: Because that cognitive obstruction, this third ignorance, mostly co-occurred with lust and craving among the afflictions, it is called the ignorance of lust and craving; it is not that the essence of cognitive obstruction is called lust and craving. That cognitive obstruction which obstructs samādhi and cultivation-discernment is permanently severed. When it says 'lust and craving are accordingly subdued,' it means that because the cognitive [obstruction], which is the root, is severed, the affliction, which is the branch, is then subdued, because from beginningless time this affliction operates relying on the cognitive obstruction.
