述曰：如前卷解。菩薩加行唯欣於智，見道已前唯伏法執，其煩惱障隨此而伏。然由所知加行伏故說煩惱伏，非前加行故伏煩惱。十地之中，與煩惱俱所知障品多分亦爾，非此俱者地地可起。

[The Commentary states:] This is as explained in the preceding fascicle. Bodhisattvas in intensified effort delight only in wisdom; prior to the path of seeing, they only subdue attachment to dharmas, and the afflictive obstructions are subdued following along with this. However, because they are subdued through the intensified effort directed at the cognitive [obstruction], it is said that the afflictions are subdued; it is not that prior intensified effort intentionally subdues afflictions. Throughout the ten grounds, the categories of cognitive obstructions that are concomitant with afflictions are for the most part also like this; those not concomitant with them may arise ground by ground.
