述曰：此中斷伏時節等解，如煩惱說，由於地地能為障故，故十地中漸次能斷，乃至十地方永伏盡。由前道力折伏後地所知障現，令其不行名之為伏。此猶末了，八地以去，第六、七識何者猶行？

[The Commentary states:] The explanation here regarding the timing of severing and subduing is like that stated for afflictions. Because they act as obstructions ground by ground, they are gradually severed throughout the ten grounds, until on the tenth ground they are only then forever completely subdued. Because the power of the preceding path subdues the active manifestation of the cognitive obstructions of subsequent grounds and causes them not to operate, this is called "subduing." This is not yet fully clear: from the eighth ground upward, which of the sixth and seventh consciousnesses still operates?
