述曰：自下第二，斷二障種。「漸、頓云何」，問也。雖已說斷但言菩薩，未辨二乘，未明頓、漸故為此問。

[The Commentary states:] Below is the second part: severing the seeds of the two obstructions. "Gradually or suddenly?" is the question. Although severing has already been discussed, it only mentioned bodhisattvas and has not yet distinguished the two vehicles, nor clarified sudden versus gradual, hence this question is posed.
