述曰：由離犯戒，證此真如德莊嚴故。世親等云：一切法中最為殊勝今出勝因，謂具無邊德。新《中邊》云：「由通達此，作是思惟，是故我今於同出離一切行相應遍修治，是為勤修相應出離」。舊論難解，故不引之，下引別處，同處不說。

The Commentary states: Because one is free from transgression of morality, one realizes this suchness adorned with virtues. Vasubandhu and others say: It is the most excellent among all dharmas. Now, the cause of supremacy is brought out: it possesses boundless virtues. The new Madhyāntavibhāga states: 'By penetrating this, one reflects: Therefore, I must now thoroughly cultivate and purify all modes of activity corresponding to liberation; this is diligent cultivation corresponding to liberation.' The older treatise is difficult to understand, so it is not cited; below, other places will be cited, and identical places will not be repeated.
