The Commentary states: Because both saṃsāra and nirvāṇa are equal, it is without distinction. The Mahāyānasaṃgraha calls it: "the tathatā without distinction in continuum." Vasubandhu says: "This means that herein its substance has no differentiation, unlike the eye and so forth which, following the continuum differences of sentient beings, are each distinct." That is, just as tathatā is not like bodies that are each distinct—the continuum being the body—thus tathatā has no distinction between self and other. Asvabhāva says: "Unlike the continuum differences of form and so forth." It can either agree with Vasubandhu or agree with this treatise; that is, it is solely a single entity, not having distinct kinds like the eye and so forth. The Madhyāntavibhāga says: This is called the meaning of having no distinctions in continuum; by penetrating this, one attains the ten intentions of an equally pure mind.
