述曰：世親等同。舊《中邊》云：因第六地十二緣生因處觀，於四諦染淨因果，無有一法可染、可淨。新《中邊》云：由通達此，知緣起法無染、無淨，非謂如也，由真如故，法無染淨，名真如為無染淨。此論等談如體，《中邊》因如體談法，非相違也。

The Commentary states: Vasubandhu and others agree. The old Madhyāntavibhāga says: Due to the contemplation on the basis of the twelve links of dependent origination in the sixth ground, regarding the causes and effects of defilement and purity of the four truths, there is not a single phenomenon that can be defiled or can be purified. The new Madhyāntavibhāga says: By penetrating this, one knows that dependently arisen phenomena are without defilement and without purity, which does not refer to tathatā itself; rather, because of tathatā, phenomena have neither defilement nor purity, and so tathatā is termed "without defilement or purity." This treatise and others speak of the substance of tathatā, while the Madhyāntavibhāga speaks of phenomena by relying on the substance of tathatā; they do not contradict each other.
