The Commentary states: Divine functions that cannot be measured are called 'wondrous'; fully cognizing the particular and universal characteristics of all phenomena is called 'observation', because its wondrous function of discerning the marks of objects is supreme. 'Comprehending and contemplating the limitless gates of dhāraṇī and samādhi': 'dhāraṇī gates' are dhāraṇī gates; 'samādhi gates' are samādhi gates. Although the other three wisdoms are not without this virtue, its distinction in entering and emerging from the various dhyānas and dhāraṇīs is superior to the other three wisdoms. Because this wisdom can gather and store them, it is called 'comprehending'; it also constantly contemplates these gates of dhāraṇī and samādhi, hence called 'contemplating'. 'Jewels of virtue' refers to phenomena such as the six perfections, the limbs of enlightenment, and the ten powers. 'Differences of function' refers to manifesting supernormal transformations and so forth.
