述曰：見道初位現在前者。真見道中此智即起。第六引生非自力起。二障頓斷妙觀察智．平等性智起必同時。若漸次斷平等後起。然諸見道．十地間起如上數明。法雲地後盡未來故。第八決定與一俱故。自力既勝不由六引。六入生空七恒法空。平等轉故。亦不同地。不同因位一切皆同。

The Commentary states: 'Present at the initial stage of the path of seeing': in the genuine path of seeing this wisdom immediately arises. It is induced by the sixth [consciousness] and does not arise by its own power. When the two obstacles are severed abruptly, the Wisdom of Wondrous Observation and the Wisdom of Equality necessarily arise simultaneously. If they are severed gradually, equality arises later. However, its intermittent arising throughout the paths of seeing and the ten grounds has been clarified many times above. After the Cloud of Dharma ground, it lasts to the end of the future. Because the eighth is definitely concomitant with one [factor], and because [the seventh's] own power is superior, it is not induced by the sixth. The sixth enters the emptiness of persons, while the seventh is constantly in the emptiness of phenomena. Because it transforms into equality, it is also not of the same ground; unlike the causal stage where all are identical.
