述曰：此即初解生空觀品。漸悟入者，至解行地終；頓悟者，至無學位；或至上位者，謂至菩薩十地位中頓、漸皆爾。既不障法空，明法空觀必帶生觀。加行入心雖獨法空，入必細故帶其麁意。此非有漏及無心，通上諸位。

The Commentary states: This first explains the category of the contemplation of the emptiness of persons. For those who enter through gradual awakening, [it continues] up to the end of the stage of resolutive practice; for those who enter through sudden awakening, up to the stage of beyond-learning; or 'up to the higher stages' means that upon reaching the bodhisattva stages of the ten bhūmis, it is likewise so whether [progress is] sudden or gradual. Since it does not obstruct the emptiness of phenomena, it is clear that the contemplation of the emptiness of phenomena must carry with it the contemplation of [the emptiness of] persons. Although the entering mind of preparatory application is solely the emptiness of phenomena, its entry must be subtle and thus it carries along that coarse intention. This is neither sāsrava nor mindless; it extends through all the higher stages above.
