述曰：引論文等皆勘卷數，如前已顯。同類境故說緣五境，不定唯爾，故不違也。五識皆能緣六境，不違理故，行相淺近，緣事智故，但遮無為，如文證成。

The Commentary states: Regarding the citations of treatise passages and so on, check the fascicle numbers, as shown before. Because they are objects of the same category, it is said to cognize the five sense objects; it is not determinately only so, and therefore there is no contradiction. The five consciousnesses can all cognize the six objects, which does not contradict reason. Since their ākāra is shallow and proximate, being wisdom that cognizes phenomena, it merely excludes unconditioned phenomena, as verified in the text.
