述曰：此第二解，或成事智與第七俱，依根緣境是平等智差別用故。此平等智既能變起受用、變化二身，能為根、境而依之故。依此化他根、境之識唯平等用，起化用麁，化異生類，名成事智；起化用細，化地上類，名平等智。

The Commentary states: This is the second explanation: alternatively, the duty-fulfilling wisdom is concomitant with the seventh consciousness, because relying on faculties and cognizing objects are differential functions of the equality wisdom. Since this equality wisdom is able to transform and produce both the enjoyment and transformation bodies, it is able to act as the faculties and objects for them to rely on. The consciousness that relies on these faculties and objects to transform others is exclusively the function of equality: when it gives rise to coarse transformative functions to convert the class of pṛthagjanas, it is called duty-fulfilling wisdom; when it gives rise to subtle transformative functions to convert those on the bhūmis, it is called equality wisdom.
