The Commentary states: Second is the gate of the five dharmas subsuming the three bodies. First master: The sūtra stating that "tathatā is the Dharma body" is stated in the Buddhabhūmi-sūtra. "The treatise stating that by revoking the eighth [consciousness] one attains the essential [body]" is stated in chapter nine of the Mahāyānasaṃgraha: by transforming away the ālayavijñāna one attains the mirror-like cognition (ādarśa-jñāna), which is also an excellence of cognition. "Stating that the cognition of equality manifests Buddha-bodies for the bodhisattvas in purely purified lands": the Buddhabhūmi-śāstra says "as stated in other treatises," without ultimately specifying which treatise. It is stated in the Mahāyānasūtrālaṃkāra; however, one must check the notes. "Stating that the observing cognition, in the great assembly," and so on: the Buddhabhūmi-śāstra also says "as stated in other treatises," which is also in the Mahāyānasūtrālaṃkāra; one must check the various texts. The statement that "by transforming the various evolving consciousnesses one attains the enjoyment body" is stated in the chapter on cognition of the Mahāyānasaṃgraha. "Stating that the cognition of performing duty manifests inconceivable transformations in the lands of the ten directions": the Buddhabhūmi-śāstra states that the Mahāyānasūtrālaṃkāra says this; furthermore, the excellence of cognition in the Mahāyānasaṃgraha completely subsumes the three bodies.
