The Commentary states: Because the three dharmas—skandhas, āyatanas, and dhātus—are heterogeneously induced and generated by causes and conditions: that is, the darśanabhāga is citta, whereas the nimittabhāga is non-citta, as with the faculties, objects, and so forth in the marks of the eighth consciousness, and the forms and so forth cognized by the sixth consciousness, because they are generated from seeds that are not of the same category as the darśanabhāga. Forms, mind, and so forth are different, yet because they are not contradictory, among the dharmas of the nimittabhāga transformed by the anāsrava there are the five skandhas, which are also like the faculties and so forth; that is, the pure seeds of the nimittabhāga are identical in being anāsrava and in nature with the darśanabhāga. Because they are heterogeneous seeds with respect to the darśana[-bhāga], the skandhas of form, mind, and so forth are also each different; this even applies to the mutual relation between associated dharmas and the nimittabhāga. Because marks and so forth are arisen from consciousness, they are alike in being unattached dharmas, pure seeds, solely anāsrava; yet their functional dharmas are different, heterogeneous seeds generating form and mind, so one cannot raise an objection equating the sāsrava with the anāsrava.
