The Commentary states: The major section below is the third: the division explaining the conclusion and dedicating the aspiration. That is to say, it is the second master's explanation of the treatise's text, which maintains: the first verse and a half briefly clarifies the marks of the consciousnesses capable of transformation; the middle twenty-three and a half verses broadly clarify consciousness-only; and the concluding five verses clarify the stages of consciousness-only. Just as when the Buddha expounds the Dharma, the beginning, middle, and end are good, unique, complete, pure, and of the holy life, so this treatise accords with that teaching, and hence it is said to have three divisions, as explained in the notes to the first fascicle; the rest of the text can be understood. Here, 'establishment' means establishing teaching through teaching, or establishing principle through teaching; in principle and actuality, both are applicable. However, according to an explanation based on the cognitive object and practice, 'establishment' is as previously explained, rationally distinguishing the marks and nature of consciousness-only.
