述曰：下釋有二：初以略釋頌文；後廣釋頌義。初中有二：初釋上三句，正顯位相；後明此修位，於究竟位便證轉依，十地修道修無分別智。「為斷餘障，證轉依」等，生起下文，然非唯智是修習位體，今從所緣能斷道說略不說餘。

The Commentary states: The explanation below has two parts: first, a brief explanation of the verse text; second, a broad explanation of the verse's meaning. Within the first there are two parts: first, explaining the first three lines to directly reveal the characteristics of the stage; second, clarifying that through this stage of cultivation, one then realizes the transformation of the basis in the ultimate stage, and that throughout the path of cultivation in the ten grounds one cultivates non-conceptual knowledge. "In order to sever the remaining hindrances and realize the transformation of the basis" and so forth introduces what follows; however, it is not knowledge alone that constitutes the essence of the stage of cultivation: speaking now in terms of the path that is capable of severing in relation to its object, it does not mention the rest for brevity's sake.
