述曰：正欲入定至微微心時，即是末後隣次於定前剎那心，熏異熟識成極增上厭心種子，以前諸位雖熏成種，猶中下品，未名為定。

The Commentary states: When directly about to enter the absorption and reaching the state where the mind is exceedingly faint—that is, the final thought-moment immediately preceding the absorption—it perfumes the retributive consciousness to form an extremely superior bīja of revulsion toward the mind. Although bījas were perfumed in the preceding stages, they were still of medium or inferior grade, not yet called absorption.
