述曰：自下第二、說相相狀。言四相者，即本無今有等法，暫停名住，與前後念法別名異，生、滅可知。此並如〈菩薩地〉四十六卷說。

The Commentary states: Below is the second part: explaining the characteristics of the marks. The four marks are precisely the phenomena of being originally non-existent and now existent, and the like: pausing temporarily is called abiding; being distinct from the phenomena of the moments before and after is called decay; birth and destruction can be known. All this is as explained in fascicle forty-six of the Bodhisattvabhūmi.
