述曰：此顯相續唯第七識，未得無漏聖道已來恒相續起，要入佛地方永不生，中間亦有間轉位次，未入聖時恒無轉故，名為相續。然第七識亦唯有說，唯我，無法，法執亦通第八識有。今此但舉正義所取，此中解釋准我執說，此識執相如下當知。

The Commentary states: This shows that uninterruptedness pertains solely to the seventh consciousness; before the anāsrava noble path is attained, it always arises continuously; only upon entering the Buddha ground does it never arise again. In the intermediate stages there are also ranks of interrupted transitions, but because it is constantly without transition before entering sagehood, it is called uninterrupted. However, regarding the seventh consciousness, there are also those who say it grasps only a self and no dharmas, and that attachment to dharmas also exists in the eighth consciousness. Here it merely sets forth the accepted orthodox view. The explanation here should be understood by analogy with the attachment to self; the characteristics of this consciousness's grasp should be understood below.
