2.726

The Commentary states: This shows that the production by the maturation cause is not yet fully stated; that is, it explains that it also influences the first six consciousnesses, both through decisive condition. These are particular fruits, and therefore the karma is termed "completing." Leading is like making a mould; completing is like filling in colors. Because these six consciousnesses arise from the true maturation of the eighth consciousness, they are called "maturation-born"; because they are not the primary ruler and are intermittent, they are not called "true maturation." Bringing the fruit-affair to full completion and possessing all the fruit-affairs is called "completing." This also applies broadly: both cause and fruit have the sense of completion; karma is superior, so it is called "completing."
