述曰：下第二、廣上三相，於中有三：初發問；次廣釋；後總結之。此即初也。上來雖言能持法種，與法為種，仍未盡理分別種相，故今應說先發論端。

The Commentary states: Below is the second [section], which elaborates on the above three marks. Within it are three [parts]: first, raising the question; next, elaborately explaining; and finally, summarizing. This is the first [part]. Although it was stated above that [the consciousness] can hold the seeds of dharmas and serves as seed for dharmas, it has still not exhaustively differentiated the marks of seeds according to principle; therefore, it should now be explained, and the discussion is first initiated.
