《二十唯識》亦作是說，極微各別不可取故。《觀所緣緣論》頌云：「極微於五識，設緣非所緣，彼相識無故，猶如眼根等。」
The Viṃśikā-vijñaptimātratā also makes this statement, because atoms individually cannot be apprehended. The Ālambanaparīkṣā verse says: 'Atoms, with respect to the five consciousnesses, / Granted they are conditions, are not objects; / Because consciousness lacks their aspect, / Just like the visual organ and so forth.'
