述曰：五十二說，於真如境，二障畢竟不可斷者，立為不般涅槃法性。唯不可斷所知障者，一分立為聲聞種性，一分立為獨覺種性。此如何別？障雖齊等，解有利鈍，於煩惱斷中修習差別故。煩惱、所知二障皆可斷，即立此為如來種姓。

The Commentary states: Fascicle fifty-two states that with respect to the realm of tathatā, those who can never sever the two obstacles are established as being of the nature of not passing into parinirvāṇa. Those who can never sever only the knowable obstacle are partly established as of the śrāvaka lineage and partly established as of the pratyekabuddha lineage. How do these differ? Although their obstacles are equal, their understanding has sharpness and dullness due to distinctions in their cultivation during the severance of afflictions. When both obstacles—afflictive and knowable—can be severed, one is established as of the Tathāgata lineage.
