述曰：舉增上緣，喻因緣義，如燈炷與燈焰展轉生燒，由炷生焰，如種生現；由焰燒炷，如現熏種，故名展轉。此顯三法，如蘆相依，為俱有因。二法為喻，喻因緣義。

The Commentary states: Adducing an empowering condition (adhipati-pratyaya) to illustrate the meaning of cause and condition (hetu-pratyaya): just as a lamp's wick and a lamp's flame mutually generate and burn—the flame arises from the wick just as actuality arises from seed; the flame burns the wick just as actuality perfumes seed—hence it is called 'mutual.' This reveals the three dharmas, like bundled reeds supporting one another, functioning as simultaneous causes (sahabhū-hetu). The two dharmas serve as an analogy to illustrate the meaning of cause and condition.
