述曰：於中有三：初敘宗；次破他；後自解。此初也。彼計，無法爾種，心性本淨，離煩惱時，既體清淨為無漏因；如乳變為酪，乳中有酪性，木中火亦然。此立宗也。《無垢稱經》亦有此說。次、論主問。

The Commentary states: In this there are three points: first, recounting their thesis; second, refuting the other; third, own explanation. This is the first. They posit that there are no naturally existent seeds; the nature of the mind is originally pure, and when it is free from afflictions, since its substance is pure, it serves as the cause of untainted [dharmas]—just as milk transforms into curds because the nature of curds is present within milk, and like fire within wood. This is their statement of the thesis. The Vimalakīrtinirdeśa-sūtra also has this statement. Next, the author of the treatise questions them.
