述曰：謂本有種亦由熏習，令其增盛方能得果，新熏理然，故說內種定有熏習。外人復曰：此義可爾，如何說聞熏習聞淨法界等流正法，而熏起也？復言是出世心，種子性也？

The Commentary states: This means fundamentally existing seeds also depend on perfuming to become robust before they can attain fruit; for newly perfumed ones this is logically obvious, hence it is said that internal seeds definitely have perfuming. The opponent asks again: 'This meaning may be so, but how can it be said that the perfuming of hearing is perfumed into arising by hearing the correct Dharma flowing out from the pure dharmadhātu? And why is it further said to be the seed nature of the supramundane mind?'
