述曰：下解境，於中有二，初別解內外所緣；後方總解所緣。初文復二，初外；後內。今此即是識之相分，依名釋義，如文可知，此為外相。然下自廣，隨彼處會。

The Commentary states: Below, the object is explained. In this there are two parts: first, separately explaining the internal and external cognitive objects; second, generally explaining the cognitive object. In the first there are again two parts: first external, then internal. Now this is the image aspect (nimittabhāga) of consciousness; interpreting the meaning according to the name is clear from the text; this is the external mark. However, below it will be detailed, to be reconciled as appropriate to each place.
