述曰：即申「正義」，解了言也。言「此中」者，是簡持義，此解第八識行相故。言「異熟識於自所緣」者，即所變影像，是親所緣，相分所攝。於此有了別用，非於心外法等。

The Commentary states: This states the 'correct view', explaining the word 'discernment'. The phrase 'here' has the sense of selecting and restricting, as this explains the ākāra of the eighth consciousness. The phrase 'the maturation consciousness with respect to its own cognized object' refers to the transformed mental image, which is the immediate object and is subsumed under the nimittabhāga. It possesses the function of discerning with respect to this, not with respect to dharmas outside citta and the like.
