述曰：更有餘能，非觸爾所，謂觸亦能和合一切心心所法，不令離散各別行相，同趣一境，是觸自性。設無觸者，其心心所各各離散，不能同緣。今不散時，皆觸功力。說自性已，觸業如何？前解功能雖即是業，舉業顯體，故非業門。

The Commentary states: It also has other capacities; contact is not merely that much. That is, contact can also harmonize all mental and mental-factor dharmas, not allowing them to disperse in separate aspects, but to head toward one and the same object together; this is the intrinsic nature of contact. If there were no contact, those minds and mental factors would each be scattered and unable to cognize the same object. That they are now not scattered is entirely the power of contact. Having explained the intrinsic nature, what is the activity of contact? Although the previously explained capacity is indeed an activity, it was citing activity to reveal the substance, hence it was not the section on activity.
