述曰：又識持種，三界生故。一浪因至一浪生，多浪因至多浪起，故名暴流。以水為喻，如下文說。

The Commentary states: Furthermore, consciousness holds seeds and gives rise to [existences in] the three realms. When the cause of one wave arrives, one wave is born; when the cause of many waves arrives, many waves arise. Hence it is called a "torrential stream." Water is taken as the metaphor, as explained in the text below.
