述曰：果生故非斷者，後法續故；因滅故非常者，不恒住故。此解法義令同於喻，餘文可解。上來大乘自述己義成立因果。

The Commentary states: "Because the fruit arises it is not discontinuous," because later dharmas continue it; "because the cause ceases it is not permanent," because it does not abide constantly. This explains the meaning of the Dharma so as to make it identical to the metaphor; the remaining text is intelligible. The above is the Mahāyāna's own presentation of its own tenets, establishing cause and effect.
