述曰：此立比量。又生與滅二法相違，如何同體？如苦、樂等不同一體。故量云：生、滅二法，體應非一；以相違故；如苦、樂等。彼宗現在一法之上辨生、滅故。

The Commentary states: This establishes an inference (anumāna). Furthermore, the two dharmas of arising and cessation are mutually contrary; how could they share the same substance? Just as suffering and pleasure do not share the same substance. Thus the inference runs: The two dharmas of arising and cessation should not be one in substance; because they are mutually contrary; like suffering and pleasure. This is because their school explains arising and cessation upon a single presently existent dharma.
