述曰：此第四理。謂八地後無漏相續，無有漏間，又彼亦無未得之退，故能念念增進諸行。勘《十地》、《地持》及〈菩薩地〉等，彼謂從此八地已去，於初剎那能得過前二阿僧祇所行功德智惠一倍，第二剎那更倍前念，如是展轉勝進倍前。

The Commentary states: This is the fourth logical ground. It means that after the eighth stage, uncontaminated [states] are continuous and without interruption by contaminated [states]; furthermore, there is no retrogression regarding what has not yet been attained; hence they are able in thought after thought to increase and advance in all practices. Consult the Daśabhūmika, the Bodhisattvabhūmi, and the "Bodhisattvabhūmi" chapter, which say that from this eighth stage onward, in the very first moment one can obtain double the merit and wisdom cultivated in the preceding two asaṃkhyeyas, in the second moment double again that of the preceding thought, and in this way sequentially advance, doubling the preceding.
