述曰：此結非也。第八地去諸菩薩等，無漏相續，一切煩惱皆不現行，雖有種子，現行皆盡，可得名捨，非七地前煩惱不起，如何說捨？彼〈決擇分〉七十七、八，及〈菩薩地〉四十八說：八地已去一切菩薩，一切煩惱不現行故，故此釋非，前二師是也。

The Commentary states: This concludes the negation. Bodhisattvas from the eighth stage onward have continuous uncontaminated [states], and all defilements do not actively manifest; although seeds exist, active manifestations are entirely exhausted, so they can be named as abandoning; but before the seventh stage, it is not that defilements do not arise, so how could one speak of abandonment? Fascicles 77 and 78 of the "Viniścaya[saṃgrahaṇī]" and fascicle 48 of the "Bodhisattvabhūmi" state: for all bodhisattvas from the eighth stage onward, all defilements do not actively manifest; therefore, this interpretation is wrong, and the previous two masters are correct.
