述曰：即與諸法為種子義。前第一名心是積集種在其中義，今此取能生諸法義，故二差別。《攝論》無此一名，如《雜集》第二、《瑜伽》七十三皆有此名。

The Commentary states: This refers to its meaning as the seed for all dharmas. The previous first name, citta, had the meaning that accumulated seeds are within it; here it takes the meaning of being capable of generating all dharmas; hence the distinction between the two. The Mahāyānasaṃgraha does not have this single name, but both the second fascicle of the Abhidharmasamuccaya-vyākhyā and the seventy-third fascicle of the Yogācārabhūmi-śāstra have this name.
