述曰：唯無漏依，體性無垢，先名阿末羅識，或名阿摩羅識，古師立為第九識者，非也。然《楞伽經》有九種識，如上下會。此無垢識，是圓鏡智相應識名，轉因第八心體得之。

The Commentary states: It is solely the support of anāsrava; its essential nature is immaculate. Formerly it was named the amala-vijñāna or amalavijñāna; when ancient masters established it as the ninth consciousness, they were incorrect. However, the Laṅkāvatāra-sūtra speaks of nine kinds of consciousness, as will be reconciled above and below. This undefiled consciousness is the name of the consciousness associated with the Great Round Mirror Wisdom, obtained by transforming the causal eighth mental substance.
