述曰：有計我見是愛著處，彼非真處，除無學者以無我故。《攝論》不言除，以極成有我非有學故；凡夫離欲少亦有故。今理所逼述宗令有，下識中亦然。餘有學、凡夫信無我者，若證、若信，雖於我見不著，於內我猶愛故，身見非著處，既厭身見應不愛我。

The Commentary states: Some posit that the view of a self is the object of attachment. That is not the true object, setting aside those beyond training because they lack [the concept of] a self. The Mahāyānasaṃgraha does not mention setting them aside, because it is commonly accepted that [only] those with a self are not those beyond training, and because ordinary persons free from desire also partly have it. Now, compelled by logic, we state our own tenet to make it present, and the same holds for the consciousnesses below. As for the remaining [practitioners] in training and ordinary persons who believe in selflessness—whether through realization or faith—although they are not attached to the view of a self, they still love an inner self. Therefore, the view of individuality is not the object of attachment; for if one already despises the view of individuality, one should not love a self.
