述曰：此下第三顯理起愛所著之處，必第八識總結。異生、有學起我愛時，雖於餘蘊若總若別有計、不計，起分別愛，於此識中任運我愛決定生起。如童子等雖無分別此蘊彼蘊，然必愛我，故唯此識是真著處。

The Commentary states: Below this, the third section reveals the reasoning that the object of attachment upon which love arises must be the eighth consciousness, summarizing the point. When ordinary beings and those in training give rise to self-love, even though they may or may not conceptually grasp the other aggregates collectively or individually, thus giving rise to discriminative love, spontaneous self-love definitely arises toward this [eighth] consciousness. Just as young children, though lacking the discrimination of this aggregate or that aggregate, inevitably love a self; therefore, this consciousness alone is the true object of attachment.
