述曰：下解第二句有二：初、總解頌；後、別解依。此總解頌，即現執持諸法識也。「無始時來」牒上四字，與「一切法」牒下三字，平等為依止，故言為緣。此為略解，下廣緣義。

The Commentary states: In explaining the second line below there are two parts: first, generally explaining the verse; afterwards, specifically explaining the support. This generally explains the verse: it is the active consciousness that holds all phenomena. "From beginningless time" takes up the four characters above, and with "all phenomena" takes up the three characters below, serving as a common support; hence it says "condition." This is the brief explanation; below is the extensive meaning of condition.
