4.283

述曰：彼說命根、五根等異熟者，必相續無間，一切時是業果故。斷已不續，故知六識非是異熟心。非大乘中許眼根等是真異熟，彼宗說故。此總非訖，下別破。

The Commentary states: What they say of the life-faculty, the five sense faculties, and other vipāka is that they must be continuous and uninterrupted, being the fruit of karma at all times. Being interrupted and then not renewed, we know that the six consciousnesses are not the vipāka mind. It is not that in the Mahāyāna the eye faculty and the like are accepted as true vipāka; it is because that school claims so. This concludes the general denial; below is the specific refutation.
