述曰：破小乘言：汝六識中業所感者，非真異熟；非恒相續故；如聲、風等。故知前破但是總破。又彼識中業所感者，是異熟所生；非恒續故；如自許聲等，大乘許是異熟生故。此中更有斷已更續因，皆准前作，此中文略。

The Commentary states: Refuting the Hīnayāna, it says: In your six consciousnesses, those that are karmically induced are not true ripening; because they are not constantly continuous; like sound, wind, and so forth. Thus one knows that the preceding refutation was merely a general refutation. Furthermore, in those consciousnesses, what is karmically induced is ripening-born (vipākaja); because it is not constantly continuous; just like sound and so forth which they themselves admit, and which the Mahāyāna admits to be ripening-born. Here there is also the reason 'because after ceasing it resumes again', which should all be formulated in accordance with the preceding; the text here is brief.
