述曰：例破心所，上來如是異熟心言。諸轉識言，亦攝心所，定相應故。如唯識言，彼亦不遣心所法故。由此一文，證知上下諸文皆爾，中以作法影初後故，上來通破諸部六識非能執受。

The Commentary states: By analogy this refutes mental factors. In the above, the expression "mind of retribution" and the expression "transforming consciousnesses" also encompass mental factors, because they are invariably associated. Just as in the expression "consciousness-only", that too does not exclude mental factors. By this one text, we know that all the passages above and below are likewise; because the method formulated in the middle reflects both the beginning and the end. The above generally refutes that the six consciousnesses of the various schools are capable of appropriation.
