4.363

The Commentary states: This is the outsider cross-examining in return. Although it is said that the three dharmas mutually sustain, both parties mutually concede that warmth alone does not pervade the three realms, whereas life and consciousness are not like warmth. Now why does the treatise master not permit consciousness alone to have interruption, but instead parallels them by saying the three dharmas mutually rely on and sustain one another? If warmth does not pervade the three realms and yet mutual reliance is permitted for the three dharmas, what prevents its consciousness alone from being permitted to have interruption and changing?
